Carolyn Graham

History and experience

Carolyn is a CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) accredited mediator and conflict resolution expert. She mediates in commercial, community and employment and workplace disputes which includes wrongful dismissal; racial/gender/disability discrimination; defamation; breach of confidentiality; relationship breakdown; bullying and harassment; capability and performance, sickness absence. Carolyn also delivers training in mediation and conflict management skills to a diverse range of organisations and sectors including local and central government, arts and entertainment, manufacturing, charities, banking, insurance, NHS and higher education. Carolyn mediates between individuals as well as in multi-party and team disputes. She has conducted telephone and time limited mediation and offers one-to-one conflict coaching.

In addition to her mediation work, Carolyn acts as an independent neutral and facilitator including in board meetings, AGMs, and in union/management negotiations. She brings the benefit of a mediator's impartiality and analytical clarity to any situation, making communication - and ultimately decision making - easier.

Carolyn previously worked for over 25 years in the arts and entertainment industry, working in both the commercial and not for profit sectors and including 14 years at London's Southbank Centre, with the management of people, of contracts, of relationship and of finance central to all of her roles. Areas of particular experience include budgeting and financial management; organisational development and change management; union/employee negotiations; internal/external stakeholder liaison and all aspects of staff management.

Training style

Carolyn's approach is to create a lively, supportive and open environment where those attending can both enjoy the learning experience as well as understand how that learning can be practically and immediately applied back in the workplace.

Courses

Carolyn delivers a wide range of training, seminar and workshop activities in mediation, dispute resolution and conflict management. As a practising mediator and an experienced senior manager, she is able to draw on real life case studies that help bring the training ‘to life' and facilitates high levels of group interaction, believing strongly in the effectiveness of individuals learning from one another.
