Environmental and ethical policy
As a business we will:
- monitor materials purchased and look to ensure they are sourced sustainably and to a Fairtrade status where possible
- ensure we offer all systems of waste recycling where practicable
- monitor and establish energy use baselines, using these figures as a benchmark for future energy use reduction
- engage with stakeholders annually to ensure we are addressing the areas of concern to all those associated with the Centre (this will include all staff and trainers)
- ensure all activities are compliant with various environmental legislation
- encourage all staff to use public transport where possible (this will involve arranging meetings at times and locations that are suitable for public transport)
During the next year of business we intend for there to be continual improvement in our standards, a commitment to pollution prevention and to comply with all legislation relating to the environmental impact of our business.
One year from now we intend to have some clear and achievable goals drawn up for the following year; goals that will have originated from impirical evidence gathered throughout the next twelve months alongside the concerns and interests of all those working with the Centre.
Environmental update
The Centre is delighted to announce that we have now been recognised by Global Action Plan as having reduced our annual emissions by around 2.5 tonnes of CO2e. We have done this through reducing our paper usage, reducing our electricity consumption and increasing our recycling. Read more about this recognition by viewing the pdf in the blue box above.
