Julia Braggins

Julia is a consultant, management development trainer, and researcher. Until 1998, she was director of the Centre for Crime and Justice Studies at King's College London, where she also edited its journal, Criminal Justice Matters. Her previous experience includes work as a tutor and counsellor for the Open University, a prison tutor, and coordinator of an adult and community education project for ex-offenders. As well as her work for the Centre, she is a specialist team consultant, a non-managerial supervisor for chief executives and senior managers, a criminal justice researcher, grants secretary for The Lifespan Trust, a trustee for Rainer and the Inside Out Trust and a volunteer director for the Samaritans in Kent.

Recent publications include: Inside Track (2004), the report of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Further Education and Lifelong Learning’s Inquiry into Prison Education, and Moving into to Management (Centre for Strategy and Communication 2004).

She has an MA in organisational consultancy from the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust and the University of East London.
