Our approach

The Centre’s training is stretching, motivating and tailored to the needs of individual learners.

All the Centre’s training is underpinned by the following principles:

  • Small training groups provide opportunity for individual attention
  • Learners should be nurtured and stretched intellectually and creatively
  • Different learning styles must be respected and supported
  • Training methods should be appropriate for the type of learning  - acquiring knowledge, building skills or developing attitudes and awareness
  • Learners are motivated by training that is relevant, inspires confidence and achieves their goals
  • Learning is most effective when it is evaluated and supported on an on-going basis

Read the Centre's values.

The Centre’s trainers are always people with a professional background in the areas in which they train.  Our communications people have been journalists and PR managers, our management team have been senior managers.  They draw on a deep reservoir of experience and have the up-to-date knowledge to make their training come alive with practical examples.  We provide ongoing professional development and peer review for our trainers.

Our standards

If you are booking training or consultancy you want to be confident that it is of the highest standard.   We know that our reputation rests or falls on the standard of our work, and  have put in place monitoring systems, evaluation and external assessment to ensure that the Centre is truly a learning organisation and our people always provide the highest quality work.
