Education Action International
Education Action works with war torn communities across Africa and the Middle East to rebuild their lives through education. The charity also work with teachers and refugees here in the UK to help educate young people about the realities of war.
The Centre has worked on EAI's Refugee Advocacy Project since it was first set up in 2000, This project helps refugees in the UK to develop campaigns either on refugee rights or on issues relating to their home countries (eg a woman from Somalia developed a campaign to ban female genital mutilation; a Kurdish woman lawyer has established a campaign against honour killing).
We have provided training on presentation skills, handling the press and media interviews. Our team working on this project found it so inspiring, that we made Education Action our charity of the year 2006.
