evaluation@the-centre

Are you looking for a professional evaluation for your project or organisation? The Centre's team, evaluation@the-centre, can help.

Is there a project for which you know you will have to seek new funding? Would it be helpful to get an external assessment of its strengths and value - as well as any areas for change or development - to help with that funding bid?

Perhaps you are planning a new initiative, and you want to talk through ways to measure its performance, or to build in an external review after the pilot stage, before deciding its future?

Or are you looking for an external evaluation of your whole organisation, via a survey of the relevant professional audiences? That can be a really useful way to ascertain its visibility and impact, its place in the landscape of your field, and its perceived success in achieving its objectives.

Why not consider asking the Centre's team of experts to talk through ways we could help? Funders are often more than happy to back small scale evaluation studies - typical costs might be in the region of  £1,000-£20,000 for a project spanning six months to a year - for initiatives they want to support.

We specialise in qualitative surveys. Typically we would:

  • work with teams, groups and project managers to clarify the research questions and performance measures for your project
  • devise appropriate interview schedules for semi-structured discussions
  • interview an agreed list of contacts, by phone and/or face to face to determine their views on the questions you want answered
  • agree how such interviews are to be written up/noted, and the all-important confidentiality arrangements (will individual comments be attributable?)
  • work with user groups, or other focus groups to supplement the individual interviews, as  appropriate
  • keep in regular contact, and report back informally on early findings
  • write up the results in reports for consultation and then presentation to management groups , trustees, or funders, as needed

But each evaluation situation is different. The Centre's hallmark is its flexibility, and we look forward to working with you to learn how we can help.
