Your trainer, John Burnell, is a senior Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and has worked for nearly all his life in the HR field.  He was head of employee relations for the London Borough of Waltham Forest, and Director of Personnel at both Metropolitan and Notting Hill Housing Groups.  In all these senior positions, he was closely involved in staff development at times of major change.

"I found the course stimulating and interesting. The trainer demonstrated his vast experience in HR and employment law, and transmitted his enthusiasm and knowledge."  JH Eastend Homes

Who is this course for?

Our HR courses in London are aimed at front-line managers, particularly those who have had little experience of dealing with difficult HR challenges and who may be facing such issues in the future. It would also be helpful for more senior managers who need to see HR in the broader context of their organisation’s overall development, and who may well find themselves supporting their more junior colleagues. The Centre works with people from all sectors including the public sector, voluntary sector, corporate sector and private sector.

What will this course help me do: learning outcomes?

By the end of one of our human resources courses in London you will have the confidence to address HR issues that have been nagging away but without the requisite knowledge you have not been able to address. You will be able to plan ahead on people-orientated issues, and take a pro-active stand in preventing problems arising in the first place, but will also be able to respond quickly and effectively when they do.

Other courses to consider

Other courses which could be of use are those around managing staff such as Supervision skills: managing people and teams or Appraisal skills. Our Management ladder courses may also be of interest.
