Moving into management: taking on your first management role - for the public sector

Course summary

Are you in your first management role?
Would you like to know more about how to motivate and manage your team?
Are you conscious that you should delegate more but unsure how to go about it?
Do you work within the public sector, including housing, health or education?

This course is for you.

The Centre’s Moving into management course for the public sector, endorsed by the Institute of Leadership and Management, will give you the basic knowledge and understanding you need to be a successful first-time manager. Aimed at new managers and those contemplating their first management role, it comes with a number of tips and tools to use as a manager that are tried and tested in real management situations. Our publication ‘Moving into management’ by Julia Braggins comes free with every booking and is a useful refresher, reinforcing the general overview of management techniques and tools given within the course.

Each delegate leaves with a concrete plan of action to take forward and the follow up session helps to reinforce these goals and explore what worked and what still needs to be in place.
