Our one day team leader training course give new and aspiring team leaders the tools, techniques and models they need to be able to put together and lead an effective team that gets the work done. All aspects of team leadership are covered including recruitment, motivating and inspiring the team, the roles and responsibilities of the team leader, communication and the common challenges that team leaders will face.

The course looks at the role of the team leader from building the perfect team through to dealing with difficult behaviour.  The team leader's role in inspiring and motivating their team, in ensuring effective communication, in delegating and managing performance and in managing their own personal style to best advantage are all covered during this intensive one day course.  You will leave with a better understanding of how teams work and how effective leaders manage.  You will develop your confidence in using the different tools of team leadership and you will have analysed your own most effective leadership style and how to flex this when circumstances demand it.  The team leader training course covers:

Our team leader training courses are for supervisors, team leaders and project managers and anyone else who wants to lead an effective, high performing team. The Centre works with people from all sectors including the public sector, voluntary sector, corporate sector and private sector.

What will this course help me do: learning outcomes?

The team leader training course will help you understand the nature of teams, why they sometimes work brilliantly and why they often fail. You will gain confidence in your own leadership approach and style and know when and how to adopt different approaches when you need to. We will discuss a range of tools, techniques and models for use in building teams so that you will come away equipped to work with your team to enhance their performance and achieve their objectives.
