Leadership and Management Grants

Did you know that you could be eligible for a Leadership and Management Grant to put towards your training with the Centre?

You may have heard of the Government funded Leadership and Management Grants before, such as their old name of Train to Gain. The Government has released further funds to help top level managers pay for leadership and management training courses, and the best news is that, even if you have received previous funding, you can still access the new style grant!

The basic details of the grants are as follows:

• The grants are only available until the end of March 2012
• The grants are match funded £ for £ up to £1,000
• They are only available to business owners, MDs and CEOs (or in larger organisations it can be delegated down one level)
• Available to SMEs, social enterprises and some charities, however not available to public sector organisations
• Organisations must have between 2 and 249 employees to access the grant
• To access the grant, organisations must demonstrate potential for high growth

Examples of courses that the grant could be used towards include:

• Finance skills for non financial managers
• Supervision skills: managing people and teams
• Appraisal skills
• Team leader skills
• Strategic planning and thinking
• Strategy: an introduction
• Handling difficult people and situations
• Budgeting for non financial managers
• HR skills for non HR managers
