What are Leadership and Management Grants?

Leadership and Management Grants are a Government initiative to help small to medium organisations with funding to gain leadership and management skills that are essential to any organisation or business, especially during the recession.

The Leadership and Management Programme will pay for the first £500 of one of the Centre's courses, as a grant. Beyond this amount, they will "match fund" the remainder of the fee £1 for £1, so for any additional amount to be paid, you will pay half and they will pay the other half, up to a maximum total grant of £1,000.

So, for example, if you wish to attend a two day course at the Centre which costs £690, the first £500 will be paid for by the grant and the remaining £190 will be split equally between the Leadership and Management Programme and your organisation, which is £95 each. This would mean that you would only end up paying £95 for a two day course at the Centre.

Am I eligible?

Leadership and Management Grants are available to anyone who meets the eligibility criteria.

These are:

• Your organisation has between 5 and 249 staff
• Your organisation has not received a Leadership and Management Grant already
• Participants must be from an EU country or have lived in an EU country for the past three years

What else should I know?

There are some important points to consider before proceeding:

• The grant is for a maximum of £1,000, and can only be claimed once per organisation. Therefore, you may wish to book more than one course at a time and claim the money back for these together, in order to ensure that you are getting the maximum amount available to you.
• VAT is not included in the grant, but is payable on all of the Centre's courses, so you will need to remember that it is your organisation's responsibility to pay this amount on top of any course fees.
• Your organisation must pay the full course fee before attending the course/s and claim the relevant portion of the fee back afterwards.
• Under the terms of the grant, the course must be taken within 90 days of booking.
• Grants are offered on a first come, first served basis so there is no time to lose!
