Francois Smit

History and experience  

Francois is a dynamic trainer, with skills developed during 26 years of hands-on experience. As founding director of GateHouse Courses and Conferences he has had hands on experience running his own company, bringing a wide experience in event management,  communications, administration and time management training. Now, working as a consultant, he works with organisations from various sectors.


He has trained hundreds of company delegates and has brought measurable benefits to large and small organisations in both the public and private sectors. His most recent clients include the Society for Research into Higher Education for whom he has developed a range of personal development programmes for newer researchers and manages a large international academic conference. He also offers one:to:one mentoring and coaching support to clients who want a more reflective and challenging learning program in order to change their work environment and practices.
