Hilary Reen

History and experience

The key to Hilary’s work and focus is her belief in people, potential and purpose beyond profit. She is driven to work with and for organisations to align their people strategies with their corporate values and culture, as well as business objectives.

Her work spans a variety of management and leadership development and engagement activities, including: the management of the global values programs for a unified communications provider and mentoring and facilitating the leadership and change management skills for police officers. In addition to HR briefing around policies and procedures for a London Borough, Hilary has provided facilitation for a multi-agency London project team including: the Mayors Office for Crime and Policing, London Boroughs, Met Police, NHS and associated charities. She also provides personal and leadership development training for the civil service and London Boroughs.

Prior to working as an Independent Consultant, Hilary’s career as a senior Human Resources professional has seen her working in organisations as diverse as start-ups and SME’s, to multi-site UK based and global companies from across a range of industries including: retail, sales and customer services, the NHS, social housing maintenance, leadership development training and telecommunications.

A Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development, Hilary is also a practitioner of NLP and holds certifications for the administration and practice for several psychometric tools. She is a member of the UK Values Alliance, an organisation focused on putting values at the heart of UK society. Additionally she is a qualified Home Economist and Image Consultant.


Hilary ’s experience spans a range of clients in the private sector including J Sainsbury plc, Heals, Mears Group, Arkadin Collaboration Services, Gold Group International and other retail and sales organisations. As well as public sector local authorities, health, civil service and police service.

Training style

Hilary is a passionate and effective communicator. Her high energy and pragmatic approach combines theory and practice with humour and insight to create a positive learning environment that enables individual learners to engage in their own personal and professional development and to support their colleagues and teams. 


Hilary teaches a range of courses across management and leadership, communications and personal effectiveness, such as Team leader skills and Influencing skills. She also runs standard and bespoke in-house training.

Hilary offers coaching and individual mentoring in leadership skills, career development, performance management and improvement, personal and professional development.
