Michele Lazarus

History and experience  

Michele has worked for over 30 years as a trainer, a counsellor, a researcher and a manager. Her background is in health education, community justice and the parenting sector. She has worked across the sectors for local authorities, social services, the health service and a variety of not for profit organisations. As well as working part-time, Michele runs her own freelance training and research business. She delivers a wide range of training programmes and specialises in training trainers, project management and supervision training designing as well as delivering her own training solutions.  

Michele holds an MSc, qualifications in health education and group-work and is Myers Briggs accredited.

Michele has worked with the Centre since 1999 with a range of clients, both on  open courses at the Centre and working in-house delivering tailored programmes. She has extensive experience with health and social service clients, as well as working with housing associations and the arts sector.

Training style

Michele has a very facilitative style using participative training methods. She draws on the experience of group members, is an excellent listener, and tailors her courses according to group needs. She uses models from the Non-Violent Communication movement, weaving them in with a variety of other management models. She believes that learning should be enjoyable, stretching and build on group members' strengths.


Michele delivers a wide range of courses including all the courses in the Management Ladder, Supervision skills: managing people and teams, Project management, Time management, Assertiveness skills, Managing volunteers, Team leader skills, Coaching skills for managersTaking and writing effective minutes and Essential skills for administrators.
