Tess Woodcraft

History and experience

Tess Woodcraft is one of the Centre's senior trainer/consultants, working on diversity and strategic corporate communication, internal and external. She worked as a journalist for BBC Radio 4 and presented a long running current affairs programme on Channel 4. She was director and spokesperson for a national charity and head of communications for Islington Council where she advised members and officers on the media, wrote speeches and developed communication strategies.


Recent clients include Scottish Power, Princess Diana Memorial Fund, Professional Golfers Association, Goldsmiths University of London, Guinness Trust and pharmaceutical companies.

Training style

Tess has been training in the UK and internationally for the past twenty years and is an experienced communications consultant. Having had hands-on experience of both giving presentations and handling the media, Tess understands the demands and challenges facing those who represent their organisations. She works with clients to develop their own best personal style, but also on corporate communication strategy, helping organisations to increase their impact in the UK and internationally.


Tess trains on a number of Open Programme courses, including: Radio and television interviews, Training the trainer, Influencing skills and Focus groups.

Tess also works with the Centre's in-company clients, delivering bespoke training at their offices.
