Why do Wessex Group of Sixth Form Colleges use in-house training?

In-company training works for The Wessex Group of Sixth Form Colleges for a number of reasons, including:

  • value for money;
  • ability to control training times;
  • convenient location.

The package

The Wessex Group of Sixth Form Colleges have been using the Centre to deliver in-house training for the past eight years. Over this time, the Centre have trained over 100 staff in Minutes, Presentation skills, Customer services, Time management and Personal Assistant skills

The Wessex Group of Sixth Form Colleges plan their staff development needs across 11 colleges and consult with senior staff and peer groups to decide on the training they require. They then liaise with the Centre to ensure they choose the right course to meet their requirements.

The Centre listens to the brief. Their Training Coordinator works with all clients to find a convenient date and a trainer with the right background.

Tailored training

The Wessex Group of Sixth Form Colleges sometimes need one of the Centre's standard courses to be tailored to a specific learning objective. Most recently, the Centre created a bespoke Personal Assistant skills course for them. This course was based on The Executive PA course and the trainer, Gill Thackray, changed elements of the training to meet the particular requirements of the group. Gill worked to the organisations brief, developing a new course outline specifically for them.

Results

We're proud to say that 84% of our delegates tell us that their performance at work has improved as a result of their training with the Centre. At Wessex Group of Sixth Form Colleges this is no different.

On completion of the training the Colleges assess the impact of the courses in peer groups. These assessments have been very positive, with attendees tip-sharing after the training.
