Course summary
Do you wish you had the confidence to deal with difficult situations at work effectively and assertively and without causing conflict? Would you like to be able to present your ideas and opinions in ways that enable you to feel heard and respected? Do you have trouble saying "no"?
This one-day Assertiveness training course covers the basics of assertiveness – what it is and the challenges people face when being assertive. It will provide you with the tools and skills you need to think and act more assertively. You will learn how to communicate in a confident and positive way, with a focus on developing a personal style that will benefit you, your colleagues and your organisation.

All our training courses are being delivered virtually. The webinar systems used do not require software download.
Please note: we allow a maximum of three people per organisation on our Individual training courses.

Assertiveness Skills Training Courses in London
The Assertiveness skills: a practical approach is an assertiveness course that is intended for anyone who feels they need to build their confidence or assertiveness. You will understand that assertiveness is not about aggression or conflict but, instead, is about finding the right tools to solve problems in a non-confrontational way.
Over the one day assertiveness training you will cover:
- what assertiveness means to you – your concerns and issues around being assertive
- understanding the principles of assertiveness
- passive, aggressive, indirect or assertive? Recognising your own style
- tips on how to behave assertively
- the Neuroscience of assertiveness
- ways to reduce physical tension
- how to say “no” assertively
- tips for disagreeing in a positive way
- receiving and giving praise and criticism
- communicating clearly and being heard
- personal presentation and body language
- techniques for making requests and dealing with overload
- free 12 months call back service
The assertiveness training combines theory with practical exercises so you can learn through experience. Participants are given a safe and confidential space to share and learn from their own, and other peoples, experiences.

Who is this course for?
Our assertiveness skills training is suitable for anybody who wants to develop a more assertive style at work. The course is most relevant for administrative staff and those new to supervising or managing teams.
Whilst the theory behind this course is anchored in Neuroscience, you do not need any previous knowledge of this subject to attend this course.
