Sophie Brigden

History and experience

As a leadership and management consultant, trainer and coach Sophie has worked successfully with leaders from the private, education, public and charity sectors helping them to lead with empathy and authenticity and awaken their best selves.Her talks and workshops draw on her unique perspective and experience of navigating a culture and career in the Army where, at the time, about 4% of employees were female. She candidly speaks about the difficulties she faced from poor leadership, a toxic culture, a system ill-equipped to support and her own lack of psychological tools which subsequently led to PTSD. 

Sophie has a Master of Science in Psychology, Postgraduate Diploma (MSc in Educational Practice & Innovation) is an International Coaching Federation trained coach and trauma-informed coach and a Member of the Chartered Management Institute. 

Sophie currently represents MQ a mental health research charity as an ambassador. 

Prior to establishing her business in 2015, Sophie worked as a project lead for the Vice-Chancellor at a London University. She was a Major in the Education and Training Services serving for 8 years in various leadership and learning and development roles and has also taught at secondary school level. 

Training Style

Combining psychological research with knowledge of leadership theory she aims to help organisations, individuals, women and young leaders be better prepared as leaders, foster psychologically safe cultures and help them to develop tools in support of their resilience. Sophie is strongly values-led, her practise is founded on creating a climate where people feel safe and open/receptive to change and challenge.
