Remote Working toolkit

Covid-19 has changed the way we work beyond all recognition. We’re all facing enormous challenges: how to manage our time, how to remain productive, how to keep our daily work going, how to keep in contact with colleagues and – perhaps most challenging of all – how to balance home and work at a time of stress and uncertainty. We all have a role to play in making the best of this new situation, and in continuing to support our organisations in their missions. We’ve put together a toolkit of tools and techniques to help you navigate the challenging weeks that lie ahead and invite you to join our interactive and informative webinar. This webinar will include a dedicated Q+A session and will support you in building a personal action plan for putting your learning into practice.

  • Webinar outline

During this webinar, we will cover the following topics:

    • Managing your time: Your concept of time can totally change when you’re not heading out of the door to work every morning. If you’re not careful, the working day can lose all structure and hours pass with nothing being achieved. We’ll give you hints and tips for drawing up a schedule that focuses on your priorities, ensuring you stay focused and productive and managing your time in the most effective way.
    • Organising your work: Let’s be honest - when you moved into your home you probably didn’t think it would one day be your full-time office. So it’s not surprising that you might not have all the systems in place to run your work from home. We’ll be discussing ways to organise your work environment to make sure it’s productive and healthy and share techniques for bringing some order to the chaos.
    • Staying in contact: Good working relationships depend on effective communication. But how can you keep those relationships healthy when you can’t pop over to your colleague’s desk to talk things through? What happens when you lose the day-to-day social contact of the workplace? How can you tell if you’re communicating in the best way? Why is nobody answering your emails? It’s not easy to connect when you’re working remotely but we’ll explore tools you can use to stay in contact and give hints and tips for communicating effectively and sensitively at this difficult time.
    • Balancing work and home: We’re often told about the importance of work-life balance but how can you manage boundaries when your living room is now your office? How can you stop work intruding on your personal time and find the time to support family members who may now be with you 24-7? How can you ensure that work still happens in a meaningful way? We’ll show you how to strike the balance.
    • Managing your motivation, stress and resilience: Isolation can take its toll. We’ll give you an introduction to staying motivated, building your resilience and keeping stress levels under control. We promise that you can get through this!
    • Personal action planning: Steps to put your learning into practice and make the immediate changes you need to make a success of remote working.
