Charity of the Year award – applications now closed!

Our  Charity of the Year award is back, and we’re ready to help one small charity by providing them with bucket loads of free training and support.

Way back in 1996 the Centre was born, providing charities with the training they needed in order to flourish. Fast forward to today, and we now cater to a broad range of industries, but charities are still held dear to our heart.

A little over 10 years ago we decided that it was time we did something special for small charities, so we created the Centre’s Charity of the Year award. Since then, we’ve helped numerous small charities develop and grow by providing them with a year of support, training, and promotion. Now, it’s time for us to find our 2018 winner.

We’re offering one lucky charity up to 24 days’ worth of free training, a free consultation with a learning and development expert, online promotion, and a glass trophy. The training, which would usually cost the winning charity up to £7,000, will be selected from the Centre’s  Individual training programme which offers a range of one and two day courses in management, administration, personal effectiveness, communication, and writing.

2017 winner  Family Matters has enjoyed a range of courses for its team, including Impactful presentations and Time management. The charity’s Business Development Manager, Kurt Trevillion, says;

“We were lucky to be chosen as the Charity of the Year and since then we have been so grateful to the training provided.”

“Our team have attended several courses and learnt new skills to help them in the workplace and drive our charity forward. We have more training lined up that we are all looking forward to!”

Previous winners also include  Social Mobility FoundationJo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, and The Honeypot Children’s Charity.

The Centre’s Director of Learning and Development, Sally Pearman, says;

“I see our Charity of the Year scheme as a way to give back; to support small charities who are tackling some hugely important campaigns and causes.”

“The award gives them a boost in terms of Learning and Development guidance, targeted training for their staff and managers, and an opportunity to network and learn from peers from other charities and sectors.”

“I remember how pivotal training was in my first role in a charity, and for us this is a great way to celebrate these organisations and to help them achieve their goals and ambitions. I think it’s one of the best things we do and I’m sure our previous winners would say the same!”
